PAPILLON

Laurence Thériault-Lainé introduit dans sa nouvelle série de peintures titré Papillon, des paysages oniriques évoqués par l’exploration de symboles allégoriques et fantastiques populaires. 

Pour Laurence, les contes de fées offrent le potentiel de s’envoler vers un univers imaginaire. Ces œuvres captent cette flottabilité qui caractérisent les rêves comme répits de la réalité, interprété littéralement et figurativement. Certaines œuvres revisitent les archétypes féminins des contes de fées et leur rôle dans notre imagination collective. Dans d’autres, l’artiste s’intéressent au paysage nocturne pour le mystère qu’il inspire.

In Laurence Thériault-Lainé’s newest series of paintings entitled Papillon, dreamlike landscapes are evoked through the exploration of popular allegorical and fantastical symbols. 

For Laurence, fairy tales offer the potential to take flight into an imaginary universe. These works capture the buoyancy that characterizes dreams as respites from reality, interpreting it both literally and figuratively. Some of the works delve into the feminine archetypes of fairy tales and their role in our collective imagination. In others, the artist explores the nighttime landscape for the mystery it inspires. 

As a whole, the Papillon series is an intimate exploration of dreams and their collective symbology.
